S P O T, Inc. began as a vision from our director, Susan Walker, to fill the need of the early intervention population in Los Angeles. Many children in the Los Angeles area are identified as in need of early intervention. While most of these children are able to receive Child Development Services, there was a notable shortage of Occupational Therapists. Susan's Private Occupational Therapy was created in December 2018 to meet this need. In September 2019, Susan's Private Occupational Therapy became S P O T, Inc. We began hiring Occupational Therapy Assistants to meet the demand for services. S P O T, Inc. moved to Redding, CA in January 2022 and has expanded to include infant Development Services, Physical therapy and Speech therapy. We are striving to provide services to the underserved population of Shasta County.

Since 1996, Susan has been providing Occupational Therapy to clients of various ages. In the past 20 years, She has worked directly with children and their families in the school setting, private setting and clinic setting. Susan has extensive experience in Sensory Integrative disorders. She is SIPT certified and experienced in creating sensory lifestyles to address individualized needs. Susan strives to provide quality services to clients by providing them with the professional care they deserve.

Susan is a mother to 5 children and has personal as well as professional experience with children with special needs. Susan is married to an amazing and supportive high school teacher, and together are raising 8 children. As a blended family, Susan has a unique perspective on family life and on how to helping each family member to feel loved, accepted and to succeed.
